Teacher's Page
This Site & Author
This webquest is a result of the didactics seminar "Collaborative Working
on the web" held by Reinhard Donath at the University of Oldenburg.
I am a student of history and English at the aforementioned university and studied for nine
months at the University of Limerick, Ireland. Thus, the creation of this webquest was self-evident
in many ways as I lived in Ireland for nine month and developed an interest in the country and its culture.
Educational Purpose
As a matter of fact this webquest is far from being perfect in terms of providing an evaluated and
certified method in teaching students how to collaboratively work on the web and how to solve a webquest
by making use of the internet as a knowledge tool. It is, simply put, a rough guide line of how
a webquest dealing with Ireland might look like.
Learners
For several reasons this webquest should be solved and worked on by learners of the 12th or
13th degree, Sekundarstufe II, Gymnasium. Firstly, the resources page links to
various websites that contain rather scientific articles and difficult vocabulary.
Nevertheless you might modify the resources page and some of the introductory texts in order to suit
this webquest to other types of learners.
Further Notes
This webquest does not include an evaluation or any other method to evaluate or mark the students' works.
Thus it is up to the people who actually make use of this webquest to add an evaluation.
If you have any questions regarding this webquest please feel free to send me an
email.
